Two Attorneys, Two Focused Practices
James Becker and Misty Becker are a husband and wife team offering experienced and client-centered legal representation in the greater Memphis area and West Tennessee.
James R. Becker, Jr. has practiced law in Tennessee for more than 15 years, and devotes his practice almost exclusively to employment law. He has brought successful suits on behalf of employees under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the National Labor Relations Act, the Employee Retirement Income and Security Act (ERISA), and other federal and state laws.
Mr. Becker is an experienced trial lawyer who has represented clients in state and federal trial and appellate courts in Tennessee, Arkansas and Mississippi. He has been before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), United States Department of Labor, National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) and federal agencies, Tennessee state agencies, and local agencies such as civil service boards, the EPA and the unemployment office.
Misty D. Becker practices exclusively to the area of divorce and family law. Ms. Becker graduated from the University of Memphis with her J.D. and M.B.A. She has been a member of the Tennessee Bar since 2000 and has been practicing family law since that time. Ms. Becker and her firm is currently practicing law in Shelby and the surrounding counties.
Ms. Becker was born in Washington state and lived in various states and Australia before moving to the Memphis area in 1996. She and James reside in Fayette County with their three children. She and her husband are practitioners of and instructors in the Pa Sa Ryu style of Taekwondo both having received their black belts.
Paulina D. Reilly is a recent addition to Ms. Becker's area of practice. Ms. Reilly graduated from University of Memphis and passed the Tennessee Bar to practice law in 2010. She has become very experienced in litigation since she passed the bar and has excelled under the tutelage of Ms. Becker. Ms. Reilly is active in her community and is fluent in Polish which she credits to her family.
